Larken at Church
Coming of Age Speech
"Coming of Age" is a graduation from religious education service at our church. Similar to Confirmation in a Catholic church, but in our church the kids write their own 'credos' after spending time (since September) learning and reflecting on what their spiritual journey means to them. It's supposed to be about where they are 'right now' in their journey. They write it themselves and present it to the congregation. Larken chose not to write hers down but to think about what she wanted to say and "wing it". At the start she told the congregation that she was "...winging it, so bear with me" which is where the video starts.
Unity
Our annual Unity Service brings together and celebrates the entire congregation, adults and children together. It's a lay led service and Larken and her friend, Nora, sang the lead song, "Unity" by Sapphire.
One Star in the Night
Larken was asked to do the solo at our Christmas Eve candlelight service this past year. She sang "One Star in the Night" by Arthur Rankin and Jules Bass, from "The Little Drummer Boy" It's hard to see her because it's a candlelight service and she's singing from the church balcony.
