"The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together: our virtues would be proud, if our faults whipped them not; and our crimes would despair, if not cherished by our virtues."
All's Well That Ends Well, by Wm. Shakespeare
I believe that different disciplines nourish one another, that ideas come from many sources, and that design exists as a narrative to connect business goals with an audience. In all cases, I endeavor to understand that audience and craft narratives that engage them, in service of those goals.
I adapt my design style to fit brand, not the other way around.

a designer origin story
I believe that it's important to be active in one's community, and am involved in a variety of public and personal initiatives, including the following:
Current member of two local appointed boards, including Dedham's Design Review Advisory Board, and as an elected Town Meeting member.
Community involvement also includes Board member for a local non-profit, as a youth soccer coach, a youth group leader & RE teacher at my church, and a steering committee member for a local theater group.
I'm also heavily invested in this little community. The one on the left calls me Pixel Boy! and the other two call me dad.
